Origins of the Seek 1st Foundation

DMV Spotlight shines a light on the Seek 1st Foundation, a Virginia based 501c-3  which raises donation and generates funds for ice hockey scholarships to support young people who want to participate in ice hockey.

Guest, Craig Bringman, Founder of the Seek 1st Foundation explains as a youth hockey coach he has witnessed young people with the drive and talent but not always the money needed to take park in the expensive sport. Bringman says his goal is to ensure players have the opportunity to participate in hockey regardless of their financial situation. Bringman says the charity counts on its volunteers and discussed the first inaugural Ice Gala fundraiser in Gainesville VA in August.

The vision is simple. We want to provide funding to kids who want to play ice hockey, but need financial assistance.

In addition to this mission or goal is keep kids active in a positive way. The culture seems to be all about video games, social media, and getting into some sort of trouble. We believe that getting involved with sports, especially a sport that consumes a lot of time and dedication, like hockey, makes a huge impact on a child’s development and leads to a more healthy and focused future.   

Our organization works hard to get this message out into the community by hosting an array of events, not only to generate funding for scholarships, but also to help spread the message that we care and that we  are here to help as many families as possible.
